Foam stamps and prints
One of my all time favorite crafts. I saw this in a magazine a couple years ago and never stopped making prints-mostly for cards.
What you need:
- Foam sheet (white)
- Tracing paper
- A soft graphite pencil
- Either some cardstock or acetate film to stick the foam piece on (I prefer acetate because it is easier to position small foam pieces where you want)
- Paint (acrylics work best)
- Paintbrush
- Xacto knife
- Other things that will make different imprints in the foam(screws, paper clips, shape punchers, allen wrenches, toothpicks, the metal tops of pencils that have the eraser missing)
1) Draw or trace object on tracing paper. Here I drew a bottle.

2. Transfer that image on to the foam sheet by turning it upside down on top of the foam sheet. Rub image to transfer. Here is the foam sheet I use. (note: I did not show an example for the transfer but if I did, it would have the image of the bottle on this foam sheet.
3. After your image is transfered then you cut out the object with an Xacto knife (on a cutting board). I recommend not doing complicated and detailed images when doing this project. One to 4 pieces should be the most amount of stamps that come from one project.

Here are the 2 stamps that came from this "bottle" print. They have paint on them because I already used them several times.
The bottle (note how I made impressions with a paper clip so it would give it detail in the print):

Here is the background which I also made some impressions on:
I found it easiest to paint and stamp the background stamp first, then add the additional stamp. As I said before I prefer sticking the stamp foam to acetate film because it makes it much easier to position pieces on the paper. This was one of my first stamps so I used paper.
Here is the finished product. I've made many different color combinations and even after many uses it still stamps wonderfully.
